SriLankan Airlines and flydubai have entered into a new interline agreement, effective today, expanding travel options for passengers between Sri Lanka, the UAE, and numerous other global destinations. The collaboration will allow passengers of both airlines to seamlessly connect through Dubai’s aviation hub to various regions, enhancing convenience and connectivity.
Under this partnership, passengers flying with SriLankan Airlines can now connect to more than 30 destinations on flydubai’s network across Africa, Central Asia, Central and Southeast Europe, and the Middle East. These destinations include unique travel hotspots such as Bucharest, Istanbul, Krakow, Mombasa, Naples, Sofia, Tashkent, and Zanzibar.
In return, flydubai passengers will gain access to 16 destinations on SriLankan Airlines’ extensive network, spanning Southern and East Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. This includes key cities like Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo, providing greater flexibility and choice for travelers.

Alongside its route expansion, Malaysia Airlines is introducing Google Gemini, a groundbreaking AI-powered travel experience, at the MATTA Fair 2024. Showcased at the MAG Arena, Google Gemini uses advanced natural language processing and predictive analytics to offer travellers personalised trip itineraries and dream destination visualizations through AI-powered image generation feature.
The interline agreement aims to offer passengers a range of benefits, including single-ticket itineraries, through-checked baggage, and coordinated flight schedules, ensuring a smooth travel experience across both airlines. Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer, flydubai, highlighted the significance of the agreement in fostering stronger trade and tourism ties between the UAE and Sri Lanka. “We’re excited about our new interline agreement with SriLankan Airlines, which will strengthen travel and trade relations between our two countries.
