Regional airline, flybig, has launched a new direct flight route between Moradabad and Lucknow, marking a significant expansion of its domestic network under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme. This development positions Moradabad as the 12th destination in flybig’s rapidly growing network, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing regional air connectivity.

The inaugural flight, which took off on August 10, was graced by UP Ministers Dharampal Singh, Baldev Singh Aulakh. Both dignitaries highlighted the crucial role of regional air connectivity in driving socio-economic development and boosting tourism within Uttar Pradesh.

Captain Saanjay Mandavia, CMD and Founder of flybig, emphasised the airline’s dedication to making air travel more accessible and affordable for underserved and unserved airports across India. “The introduction of flights between Moradabad and Lucknow will benefit business travelers, tourists, and local residents, facilitating seamless regional connectivity,” he said.

AAI asks airlines to start international operations from Bhopal Airport

The Airport Authority of India asked airlines to start international flights from Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport to destinations including Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok. The initiative, as stated by Airport Director Ramjee Awasthi, aims to enhance connectivity, promote tourism, and stimulate economic growth in the region, benefiting travellers and the local economy.

This new service is part of flybig’s broader strategy to increase connectivity between Tier II and Tier III cities. The airline recently launched routes from Lucknow to Azamgarh, Aligarh, Chitrakoot, and Shravasti, further boosting regional air travel within Uttar Pradesh. In addition to expanding its services in Uttar Pradesh, flybig has entered into a new agreement with the Airports Authority of India and the Union Territory Administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This agreement will enable the airline to operate on routes between Port Blair, Car Nicobar, and Campbell Bay, thereby extending its reach to remote regions of the country.

With a fleet of three aircraft, flybig continues to fulfill its mission of making air travel more accessible and convenient, contributing to the economic growth and development of the regions it serves.
