Jazeera Airways announces new CEO who will takeover from Rohit Ramachandran, ET TravelWorld

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait‘s leading low-cost carrier, has announced a significant leadership transition with the appointment of Barathan Pasupathi (Bara) as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 26, 2024. Bara, a seasoned aviation professional with over three decades of experience, will succeed Rohit Ramachandran, the current CEO, who will be stepping down after over seven successful years with the organization.

Barathan Pasupathi brings a wealth of expertise to his new role, having served as the former CFO of Jazeera Airways and played a crucial role in the establishment of Sahaab Aircraft Leasing. With extensive experience spanning aviation, oil and gas, and supply chain management, Bara is well-positioned to lead Jazeera Airways into its next phase of growth and development.

Commenting on this leadership change, Marwan Boodai, Chairman, Jazeera Airways, expressed gratitude for Rohit Ramachandran’s leadership, describing him as a strong and visionary leader who has made significant contributions to the airline’s growth and success. Boodai praised Ramachandran for navigating Jazeera Airways through challenges, including the recent pandemic, and positioning the airline for future success.

In his new role, Barathan Pasupathi is poised to provide continuity to the business and drive Jazeera Airways forward with his strategic vision and leadership. “In 2023 IAG more than doubled its operating margin and profit compared to 2022, generated excellent free cash flow and strengthened its balance sheet position,” IAG CEO Luis Gallego said in a statement. Gallego said that the Middle East conflict had impacted mostly corporate demand in the last quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, but was expected to recover.

Reflecting on his departure, outgoing CEO Rohit Ramachandran expressed pride in Jazeera Airways’ accomplishments during his tenure and expressed confidence in Bara’s ability to lead the airline to new heights.
