Turkish Airlines, renowned for its global connectivity, has unveiled its latest digital innovation, the ‘TK Wallet‘ application, enhancing the convenience of payment and refund processes for its Miles&Smiles members.
Ahmet Olmuştur, Chief Commercial Officer, Turkish Airlines, expressed the airline’s commitment to digitalisation, stating, “As part of our digital transformation journey, we are dedicated to enhancing our passengers’ travel experience through innovative solutions. TK Wallet is a testament to our ongoing efforts to streamline services and prioritize passenger comfort.”
With TK Wallet integrated into Turkish Airlines’ mobile application and website, Miles&Smiles members can swiftly complete payment and refund transactions, ensuring a seamless travel experience. Moreover, members have the opportunity to earn TK Money, an exclusive reward currency, in addition to their refund amount for ticket and ancillary service purchases made via Turkish Airlines’ digital platforms.
Available in four major currencies—Turkish Lira, Euro, US Dollar, and British Pound—TK Money earned through refund transactions is easily accessible and can be utilised securely for future purchases. This initiative underscores Turkish Airlines’ commitment to leveraging digital technology to simplify processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
People aware of the development said that the airline is planning to lease the planes from Qatar Airways for a period of six months for the busy summer travel season. The aircraft are less than four years old and are currently being operated by the Doha-based carrier. Damp lease, an arrangement under which the lessor provides an aircraft along with cockpit crew and maintenance to the airline, is costlier than a normal lease.
