Yas Island Abu Dhabi, one of the region’s top leisure and entertainment destinations, has launched the Yas Island Lounge at the newly opened Zayed International Airport. Designed to offer a seamless and welcoming experience for visitors, the lounge is located in the arrivals hall and sets the stage for a memorable stay in Abu Dhabi.
The launch was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Liam Findlay, CEO of Miral Destinations, and Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports. This new space aims to enhance the guest experience by providing a dedicated concierge service that offers personalized assistance and information about Yas Island’s attractions, including booking options for experiences right at the lounge.
Liam Findlay, CEO of Miral Destinations, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce the Yas Island Airport Lounge to all travelers arriving in Abu Dhabi. The lounge exemplifies our commitment to providing exceptional experiences from the moment guests arrive and serves as a welcoming gateway to the wonders of Yas Island.”
The Yas Island Lounge not only offers travellers a comfortable place to unwind after their journey but also acts as a hub of information. Visitors can enjoy complimentary refreshments, browse a curated selection of retail merchandise, and pick up the latest edition of Yas Island Magazine, which features exclusive offers, upcoming events, and detailed guides to the 25 sq. km island.
Greece plans to introduce a 20-euro levy on cruise ship visitors to Santorini and Mykonos during peak summer to prevent overtourism. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that part of the revenue will be invested in local infrastructure. Measures to regulate cruise ship arrivals and protect the environment are also planned.
An innovative feature of the lounge is the Yas Explorer Passport, a program designed to enhance visitor engagement. Travellers can collect stamps as they explore different locations on Yas Island, earning points that can be redeemed for exclusive rewards. Guests can register their passports via a QR code to participate in exciting draws, making their exploration of the island even more interactive.Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, commented on the collaboration, saying, “We are delighted to partner with Miral in bringing this exceptional new lounge to Zayed International Airport. This luxurious space offers a seamless transition into the world-class destination that is Yas Island, showcasing Abu Dhabi’s unique vibrance and warm hospitality from the moment of arrival.”
The Yas Island Lounge is open to all arriving passengers free of charge and includes a dedicated waiting zone for the Yas Express bus, offering convenient and free transportation to Yas Island. This new addition enhances Zayed International Airport’s already impressive facilities, making it a key gateway for visitors to discover Abu Dhabi’s renowned leisure offerings.
